Experience tranquillity as you wander through a unique oasis in Queensland’s Central Highlands – the Emerald Botanic Gardens. This tropical haven offers an idyllic setting for leisurely afternoon strolls or early morning ambles. Nestled along the Nogoa River, it’s the sole botanical garden in the Central Western District of Queensland. Encompassing 42 hectares, the gardens not only provide a serene escape but also a chance to connect with the area’s natural landscapes. With six kilometres of pathways leading to picnic spots, play areas, mazes, sculptures, and distinct plant communities, these gardens, established in 1987, reveal 12 themed plant ecosystems, many mirroring local native species.
